· Students get an opportunity to visit a variety of schools, allowing them to determine first hand, the type of campus that is best for them (small college, urban or metropolitan setting, rural setting, private/public university, co-ed campus, etc.).
· Students get an opportunity to visit and experience the campus facilities first-hand including the dormitories, cafeteria, classrooms, libraries, etc. Students are able to see things not mentioned in brochures, websites, or by campus representatives.
· Students get a chance to see surrounding areas (major city, rural, etc.) which gives them an opportunity to know if they are comfortable and safe in the area that they will live and dwell in during their college years.
· Students get an opportunity to speak with current college students, allowing them to get first-hand perspective of campus life and experiences from a student's point of view.
· Students get an opportunity to speak with college faculty, allowing them to interact with them on both a personal and academic level. Students can directly inquire about what exactly needs to be done while in high school based on their individual situations for admittance.
· Seeing real college students on a college campus and getting a glimpse of the lifestyle that awaits them after high school just might be the exposure needed to motivate them to attend college. This can in turn allow students to return from the tour excited to perform better in the classroom in order to get accepted to the school of their choice.
· Traveling alone offers advantages as well. Prospective students get an opportunity to travel together allowing them to benefit from one another's questions and interests that may have otherwise never been considered. Additionally, student's social development and maturity can develop from the travel aspect alone; encouraging independence, responsibility, and accountability.
· Parents have the convenience of saving time and money by covering several schools in one trip.  Once in college, students can feel confident and satisfied with their collegiate decision knowing that they have thoroughly researched their college options, and that they are making the right choice.
